Communications Project Officers
Climate and Energy Programme and Freshwater Programme
(part-time or full-time, fixed-term, based in Budapest)

With a team of 160 highly specialised professionals, we are working across political borders through an ecoregional approach based on model projects, influencing policy, networking, capacity building, communication and crisis response.
The Communications project officer contributes to WWF Hungary’s awareness raising, brand positioning and communication activities supporting conservation goals as a member of the Communications Team within the Fundraising, Marketing and Communications Department.
As a Communications Project Officer your duties will include:
Project coordination and implementation
Managing and leading project related communication activities of national and cross-boarder conservation projects mainly related to the Climate and Energy Programme and/or the Freshwater Programme
- Oversee projects as a whole and prepare communication strategies
- Prepare detailed workplans with all the activities and timelines
- Manage external partners’ (e.g.graphic designers) work
- Coordinate with project partners for implementation
- Coordinate the work of the specific projects within WWF Hungary staff, ensure that activities and dates are in line with other project communication and brand communication activities
- Implement all relevant activities on a national level (e.g. drafting press release, organizing events, manage content on the website
- Manage administrative tasks (e.g. writing reports, prepare media clippings, draft contracts, proposals)
Requirements:
- University or college degree in Communications, PR, Marketing or other related fields
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in communication project management
- Excellent oral and written communications skills both in Hungarian and English
- Excellent negotiation skills, relationship management and interpersonal communication
- Ability to write coherent internal and external documents such as memos, press releases, articles, strategies
- Ability to participate effectively in inter-disciplinary teams and to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and external partners, efficient listening skills
- Precise and efficient in managing parallel tasks and deadlines
- Ability to work individually but also in team
- Experience in multi-tasking
- Efficiency in working style
- Solution-oriented thinking
- Flexibility in personality and open-minded
- Interest and appetite for conservation and sustainability
- Experience in supervising a project team is an asset
- Experience in EU funded project communication is an asset
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Windows operating systems; experience in using a variety of databases acquired through training and work experience
